End of the Quarter

This has been another busy quarter, but I'm really happy with the result of the work I produced.  I had two eight page comics to do, plus some other stuff for the two studio classes and my lecture class, but I planned it well and here's my result from another hard-working quarter:

These pages were for my Senior Project class final.  As can be seen, from the being of the quarter when I posted up the initial character designs, I did some changes, as well as gave Pandora a  full make-over,  I definitely like this version better, but I did keep his color system from the original.  I also will admit that I absolutely love page 7.  I'm so happy that it turned out so nice since I was hoping it would since I penciled it.

This is the front cover page to the eight page minicomic I had to make for my Publishing and Self-Publishing class final.  My favorite part of this are the colors, probably because I love purple-blue colors.

These are my other pages.  I feel both stories turned out pretty good.

Time to finish up the last few days of school, then off for a hopeful busy summer.

Newly designed characters!

I'm now in the Senior Project class, can't believe schooling is nearly done for me.  My project for the class is an eight page teaser to a story I've come up with about a rebellious  Guardian Angel in training who learns important life lessons from other beings from various religious and mythological backgrounds.  In this story she meets Pandora who is a lot like her, though has the more darker traits that she was not so aware of.

The first character is Seren, who is the main character and a Guardian Angel in training.
Next to her is her mentor, Gabriel.
On the far side is Pandora (I'm aware that Pandora was a woman in the story, but it all gets explained.  You'll just have to check out the story when it is completed.

On other news, I'm also in the Getting Published and Self Publishing class, in which we must also do a comic.  The characters for that one are my squirrel characters, which you can find two posts ago.  It will focus on the start of the story.  The characters in this will be Arland, Fionn, and Cathal.

That is all for now.  Have a good Spring!

Winter Quarter finals

This quarter was absolutely nuts!  XP  However, I feel like a learned a lot, and did a total for 11 pages of comics!  Yay!  Also, I consider this to be the quarter of challenges for me.

The first is the three page story I did for my Environments, Props, and Structures class.  I traditionally toned it, even though I didn't have to; I wanted to.  Challenges with this one included drawing dogs (well, the main character is technically a maned wolf), producing a story with no dialogue and having it still read, and try my hand at toning to explain a story, rather than marking an object as having a tone.

Enjoy.

Next is my eight page Visual Storytelling II story.  Yes, Dia and Quartz came back from their story last quarter.

Challenges with this one included having a total of nine characters, plus a crowd, many ellipses to force myself to practice them, different environments, and in color, harmonizing a rainbow local color pallet in the end.  I feel it was all quite successful and really like how the story came out.  And I've been working on not makings my pages as saturated as the four page story I did last quarter. :)

Please enjoy this one as well.
